What is LED Lighting?
LED stands for light-emitting diode and is the result of electricity passing through a semi-conductive material. The energy produced is used to light up multiple tiny diodes which combine together inside a single larger bulb that we refer to as an LED lamp.
Since very little electricity is used, LED lights do not produce a great deal of heat and are thus extremely energy efficient. Wastage through heat is where much of the energy is lost in conventional incandescent lamps. The small amount of heat that is produced in an LED light is transferred to a heat sink within the fitting which scatters the heat and helps the LED bulb to remain cool.
Even after an LED light has been ‘burning’ for hours, it is still possible to reach up and unscrew the lamp from the fixture as it will only be slightly warm to touch! As so little energy is used to produce light, converting to LED lighting is a huge benefit to your business.

LED lights create comfortable and pleasant working environments. LEDs can be blended together to create an infinite spectrum of colours, so there is no need for the inefficient filters used for an incandescent spectrum.
LED's have a failure rate of 1% compared to incandescent bulbs of 10%. Good quality LED lamps can have a useful life of more than 25,000 hours meaning they last for approximately 15–25 years, with incandescent bulbs only lasting around 1,000 hours.
LED lights have lower running temperatures which reduces fire risks. They are formed from non-toxic materials making them far greener for the environment.

LED lighting uses 80% less energy than incandescent over their lifetime. LED lighting only uses a fraction of the energy to produce the same light and is capable of achieving up to 90% in energy savings.
LEDs reduction in CO2 emissions up to 70%. Their greenhouse emissions are also lower right from the production line to the end user.
Fast Returns On Investment
Although LED’s have a higher initial cost than incandescent bulbs, the cost is quickly recovered over time in lower electricity costs, with an average payback period of 2.5 years.
