Super Efficient and Environmentally Friendly
An Air Source Heat Pump draws in heat freely from the air outside and transfers this into useable heat inside.
This heat is used to heat radiators, underfloor heating, hot water and warm air convectors in your home.
Amazingly, an Air Source Heat Pump works on hot or cold days and can extract heat efficiently from temperatures right down to -20ºC.
Designed well, it will provide all your heating and hot water needs 365 days a year.
Generate Income From the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (RHI)
This Government run scheme pays participants for every kilowatt of energy that their system generates.
Payments are made quarterly over seven years. Payments are tax-free and indexed linked.
Renewable Heat Incentive payments are designed to payback up to 80% of the cost of your Air Source Heat Pump installation.
Compact, Quiet and Low Maintenance
Air Source Heat Pumps are quiet running, low maintenance and stand-alone units, roughly the same size as an air conditioning unit. They can be placed outside your home so no digging or underground pipework is needed.
They can be used together with most electric boilers, oil-fired boilers or equivalent when docking to an existing heating hot water system.
Benefits of an Air Source Heat Pump
- Lower fuel bills and future protection against rising fossil fuel costs
- Income through the UK government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
- Can heat your home as well as your water
- Low running costs
- Improved heating comfort levels
- Quiet running units, located outdoors and not heard from inside
- Minimal maintenance required
- Easy to install
- Permitted development under planning rules
How Does an Air Source Heat Pump Work?
They operate rather like a refrigerator in reverse, absorbing heat from the air into a working fluid which is passed into a compressor, where it’s temperature is increased before it is transferred via a heat exchanger into the heating and hot water circuits of the building.
